Privacy
How data is handled in the PigeonLoft apps for iPhone and Android.
Who operates PigeonLoft
PigeonLoft is operated by Stefan Circov. For questions about data or privacy, contact [email protected].
Information stored on your device
The app stores pigeon records, ring numbers, family relationships, pedigree text and appearance, pairs, young birds, results, pigeon treatment notes, local sale listings, preferences and unfinished drafts locally. Your loft profile may contain the name and contact details you choose to enter. Selected photos and documents remain on the device. A PigeonLoft account is not required for the main features.
Reading photos and documents
Text recognition and pedigree analysis take place on the device. Images and recognized text are not sent to an external AI service for recognition. The app accesses photos and documents you select; available permissions are managed in your system settings.
Android recognition component
The Android app uses Google ML Kit for part of the recognition process. According to Google documentation, this component may send Google technical device and app information, an installation identifier, component usage events, errors and processing times for diagnostics, maintenance and analysis of component operation, using HTTPS. Photos and recognized text are processed locally. The iPhone reader does not use this component.
PigeonLoft sign-in and synchronization
Email sign-in and PigeonLoft database synchronization are disabled in the version covered by this notice. The app does not upload your local database or photos to PigeonLoft servers. Any future activation will be explained in the app and in an updated notice.
Importing official results
Connecting to a results provider is optional. If you choose to do so, the provider page opens within the app and sign-in details are entered on that page. The provider receives requests, the IP address and information needed for sign-in and results lookup, including account identity and the pigeon ring number. The web session is stored locally; the app associates the breeder code and name with your loft profile and saves imported results on the device. You can disconnect the session. The provider handles data under its own policies. Do not send provider passwords to PigeonLoft support.
Exporting and sharing
Files are exported or shared at your request. You choose a destination through the system share sheet or file picker. A file may contain ring numbers, relationships, photos and loft details you included. Review it before sharing. The recipient or service you choose handles its copy under its own rules.
Advertising, tracking and system backups
The app contains no advertisements, advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking. The Android technical component is described separately above. Operating-system diagnostics and backups are controlled by you and the platform. Local storage does not exclude a device backup in iCloud or an Android backup service if you enabled it.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you edit or delete them. Uninstalling may remove app data; backups and exported files must be managed separately. A CSV list export is not a full backup of photos and all application records. Verify a backup before deleting the app or changing devices. For data sent to an external provider, also use that provider’s deletion options.
Support and data requests
If you email us, we receive your email address and the content you choose to send. We use them to respond and investigate your request, keeping them for as long as needed for that purpose and applicable legal obligations. You may request access, correction or deletion as appropriate through [email protected]. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, identity documents or unnecessary information.
